Avante I&IMS participated in Forum on Health, Technology and Quality of Life, organized by AETIC and Fundació TicSalut that was hold in Fira de Barcelona located in Spain during second and forth of May 2010. This fair is included in the second edition of Avante, which tackles the implementation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in health care in order to improve safety, quality and sustainability, as well as to reduce public costs.

Avante is the Europe's first multi-sector and multidisciplinary fair specializing in quality of life enhancement.

Avante brought together the business, scientific and technological worlds in a joint project for the best solutions serving healthcare, self-reliance and quality of life of people affected by dependency and disability. Around 1,000 professionals from over 20 countries attended this fair.

This year’s edition, the contest has promoted R&D by showing national and European projects and prototypes that offer technological solutions focused on improving autonomy and health in elderly and disabled persons.

Within the framework of Spain’s presidency of the EU, the show will also provide the setting for the General Assembly of the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Association, which manages programmes for the development of new technologies at the service of the elderly. I&IMS is currently participating in the AAL Project: "3rD-Life: 3D Virtual Environment for Social Interaction of Elderly People".

Bdigital Global CongressI&IMS took part to the 12th edition of Bdigital Global Congress, taking place at CaixaForum Barcelona on next 17-20 May 2010, and especially to the sessions dedicated to "Technologies for health" and "Energy efficiency in buildings", being I&IMS' working fields through different European R&D&I projects like MIDAS, DiY Smart Experiences and eDiana.

The BDigital Global Congress was the benchmark congress on breakthroughs in information and communication technologies (ICT) and their business, technological and social applications.

This year, the congress was dedicated to the "Internet of the Future", considered one of the European Commission's priority lines of research, which affects the development of intelligent infrastructure, energy networks and new systems of transport, mobility and healthcare, among others.

eHealth Week 2010 I&IMS has recently participated on eHealth Week 2010, where it has been shown the latest technological progress on digital health field. Its scope is to seek solutions for future’s health needs.

This meeting has been held on Convention Center of Barcelona (CCIB) from March 15th to 18th, 2010. This was the first time that World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition (WoHIT) and European eHealth Ministerial Conference were unified, allowing more than 3200 eHealth professionals whose background ranged from public employees, general practitioner, suppliers to CIOs. Moreover, there were more than 96 display stands representing local, European and international level.

The main objective was to develop a high level European platform where all assistants could share a common goal, promoting eHealth in Europe. Among some health solutions showed and argued were telemedicine, digital medical image and electronically medical history.

ModalVision CD/DVD Medical Record ToolI&IMS, Epson Technology Partner, officially releases the new software ModalVision CD/DVD Medical Record Tool. The efficient and affordable solution for the distribution of studies and reports with DICOM images, it is easy to configure, use and maintain. It features a complete management and direct control of EPSON’s robotised Discproducer PP100 CD/DVD recorder that includes an inkjet printer for printing patient identification data and an autonomous image viewer.

Depending on the PACS image retrieval procedure, there are two versions of the software application:

  • ModalVision CD/DVD Medical Record Tool QR
    Through DICOM Query/Retrieve. The ModalVision tool allows querying a patient and its studies starting from an identifier (patient or historial number). It also allows the retrieval of images by importing DICOM files from any disk or device.

  • ModalVision CD/DVD Medical Record Tool SERVER
    Through DICOM Storage. With this process, every PACS, modality or application that is able to relay images to an external DICOM node (by DICOM Push, DICOM Send or DICOM Storage) can send images to ModalVision.

Quality of service


In 2007, I&IMS has obtained from ECA CERT the UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2000 quality certification for development and design of computer applications for video surveillance, health and video communication and the UNE-EN ISO 13485:2004 quality certification especially for the applications in the health sector. These allow us to guarantee the systematisation and rigor in processes, the quality of our products and the satisfaction of our client's needs and expectations.
