I&IMS is a member of PROMETEO, the Spanish Technological Platform in the sector of Built-in Intelligent Systems (embedded systems), and constitutes a Scientific-Technological cooperation network integrating the relevant agents in this area of the Information technology sector (companies, universities and technological centres), especially those oriented to the industrial software development or use.

Its objectives are:

• To define the work programme and the research strategy agenda for the developing single scientific-technological projects and with a strategical aspect, as well as high-priority and leading projects.


• To generate and transfer technology and to coordinate the efforts to develop the technological capacity according to the Spanish-industry needs, providing a help to the Spanish industry and technological agents in their active participation to the CE 7th framework programme.

On last 15th November 2007, I&IMS lead a seminar on “Digital Video Management and High-Definition Videoconference”, at La Salle of the Ramon Llull University

The event was organised in the Innovation Park La Salle, Lluçanès street nº41 in Barcelona, from 10 to 12 a.m in the BCN Digital room, between I&IMS and Axis Communications, within the framework of the Corporate Training day the Campus La Salle organises on a periodical basis.

Image and Information technological Solutions demonstrated by I&IMS together with the Axis IP cameras and servers included:

  Security system through IP cameras.
• Digital Video Managementl: DocuDVM
  Digital Video content Manager (image and sound) in MPEG-4 quality
• High Definition Videoconference: AVsip
  Videoconference with IP cameras and connectivity to traditional equipment

The DocuDVM and AVsip Solutions results from the evolution of I&IMS development within the Framework of its participation to the Artemis and Cantata European projects

Within the framework of the Broadcast 2007 (International Audio-visual Technology Trade Show) and the SIMO'07 (International Data Processing, Multimedia and Communications Show) in Madrid, together with SmartTelecom, I&IMS presented its DocuDVM content manager for digital video display, recording and play (sound and image) in MPEG-4 quality, through Axis Communications IP video cameras and servers.

In addition to the DocuDVM application in congresses, seminars, training, health, meetings, committees, legal scenarios, etc. with IP cameras, we will demonstrate the recording and playing of videoconference sessions with Polycom, Sony and LifeSize via IP servers.

Meetings with our distributors and clients took place on last 8th November 2007 between 11 and 1 p.m. at the Hotel Novotel Campo de las Naciones (close to the IFEMA fair in the Parque Ferial Juan Carlos I in Madrid).

I&IMS took part to the 4th edition of the Technological Forum @asLAN’2007, that was held in the Barcelona World Trade Centre, on October 23rd-24th 2007.

In the booth nº 14 of the Forum exhibition area, we made in-situ demonstrations of I&IMS’ IP Video-surveillance system, DocuRemote with the IP cameras of Panasonic telecommunications department, on wired and wireless bandwidth networks.

The main objective of this essential annual event is to create an adequate framework for promoting an efficient exchange of knowledge amongst professionals interested in technologies related to networks and renown providers of the sector

I&IMS attended the ITEA2 Symposium 2007 (Information Technology for European Advancement) which was held on October 18th-19th 2007, at the Berliner Congress Centre in Berlin (Germany). Our company actively participated to the posters and demonstrators sessions of the ITEA projects I&IMS is involved in: CANTATA Project and SODA Project.

The symposium was scheduled around this year’s overall theme: "Using ICT to deal with major societal challenges" and the contents of the third-edition reference document were discussed: "ITEA Technology Roadmap for Software-Intensive Systems" (RM3). This describes the most relevant strategic and future lines for ICT initiatives in Europe

I&IMS took part to the V Jornadas Técnicas Seguridad en Hospitales (Technical Days of Security in Hospitals), organised by GET and the Govern of the Balearic islands on last 8-11 October 2007 in the University Hospital Son Dureta in Palma de Mallorca. In the exhibition area of this event, we made demonstrations of I&IMS Video-surveillance application, DocuRemote and the digital video content manager, DocuDVM, operating with Axis Communications IP cameras and IP servers.

The objective of these technical days is to be a knowledge exchange forum to compare technical solutions and current operations of security aiming at solving common problems, protecting, conserving and maintaining hospital centres

Within the framework of the 9th European Conference for the Advancement of Assistive Technology, AAATE 2007, which was held at the Kursaal Congress Palace in San Sebastian, on October 3rd-5th 2007, the partners of the ARTEMIS Project, Peter Cudd from BHNFT (Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust – UK) and Bryan Boyle from CRC (Central Remedial Clinic – Ireland) presented their scientific communication on “Case studies of the use of a remote AT service provision system” the final results and their experience with the Artemis Server and Artemis Terminal systems by I&IMS.

Assistive Technologies for elderly people and persons with a disability are getting a raising importance in the scientific-technological community. Moreover, due to the population ageing and ber social awareness, governments and public organisms consider AT as one of their priorities.

The AAATE (Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe) gathered in this European conference AAATE 2007 - organised twice a year - all disciplines involved in the field of Assistive technology are invited to participate: researchers, engineers, service providers, gerontologists, occupational therapists, manufacturers and users

I&IMS commercialises the new high-definition videoconferences by LifeSize. Its official presentation was made at I&IMS facilities in Barcelona to its partners network on June 12th 2007 product demonstrations and IP connections with Madrid and Austin.

The LifeSize Team and LifeSize Room solutions are the best available offer on the market with the best performance/price ratio in the high-definition videoconference segment. Thanks to its powerful image processor and its H.264 coding, they provide resolution of up to 1280 x 720 pixels and 30fps. The PTZ camera with a native format of 16:9 allows an angle of view of 70º.

LifeSize Phone is the high-definition audio conference product by LifeSize. It operates on the same audio algorithms as iPod®  and integrates a circular array with 16 directional microphones (16 KHz) ensuring a high sound quality with a minimum distortion.

I&IMS has been chosen as an SME member of ARTEMISIA (ARTEMIS industrial association). ARTEMIS, the acronym of Advanced Research and Technology for Embedded Intelligence and Systems, is the European Technological Platform to promote international R&D projects of embedded systems and gathers the European Commission, the participating Member States and R&D agents.

The programme will be jointly managed by three involved parts, where R&D agents are represented through the ARTEMISIA association (Artemis Industrial Association).

The ARTEMISIA association, founded in january 2007 by Philips Electronics, STMicroelectronics, Thales, Nokia and DaimlerChrysler, currently gathers a selected group of industrial companies, high-technology SME and research centres

I&IMS has obtained the UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2000 quality certification (with nº 6630/ER/03/07) for development and design of computer applications for video surveillance, health and video communication and the UNE-EN ISO 13485:2004 quality certification (with nº6631/ER/03/07), especially for the applications in the health sector. These allow us to guarantee the systematisation and rigor in processes, the quality of our products and the satisfaction of our client’s needs and expectations.

The scope of these certifications delivered by ECA CERT covers the activities of the whole company staff, ensuring that, for all our internal processes from the design to the development of computer applications, the promotion and commercialisation, as well as the set-up services, we have defined some exhaustive quality proceedings to control the non conformity and establish prevention and permanent correction actions

Within the framework of the XIV edition of SITI/@asLAN’2007, that took place between 27th, 28th and 29th March 2007 in Madrid trade fair - IFEMA, I&IMS demonstrated in Panasonic stand its IP video surveillance system, DocuRemote for Panasonic, including DR Lite, DR Std, DR Pro, DR Control, DR Web and DR PDA products, which can be connected to all Panasonic IP cameras from its Telecommunications and Security divisions.

SITI/asLAN is the professional trade show targeting all those interested in technological solutions for public administrations, operators, big companies and SME, in the field of networks and converging technologies. This edition will gather in more than 10,800 m2, some 127 exhibitors with more than 400 manufacturers represented and more than 12,500 visitors are expected

DocuRemote, IP surveillance systems by I&IMS, will be presented at Expocomer 2007, in Panama, international trade exhibition of preference in Latin-American and Caribbean region, where a wide range of services and products from the commercial and industrial sectors concentrate.
In this 25th edition of Expocomer (some 8,000 m2 and 500 exhibitors), organised by the Cámara de Comercio, Industria y Agricultura de Panamá, from 7th to 10th March 2007, in the ATLAPA Convention Centre in Panama City, Vigilia Digital, one of our authorised distributors, will make demonstrations of our DocuRemote products by connecting different IP cameras and DR Pro servers in local and remote locations

The Spanish Directorate General for Information Society, for its Second Plan Avanza Award in the category "PROFIT - Best international project", selected the ITEA-SODA project, in which initiative I&IMS was an active participant.
The awarding event, chaired by Mr. Joan Clos, Minister of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, was held on February 21st 2007, in Madrid.

The ITEA-SODA project (Service Oriented Device & Delivery Architecture), lead by Schneider Electric at European level, is formed by an efficient Spanish
consortium: B-Kin, Carsa, DataPixel, ESI, I&IMS, Semantic Systems, Trimek, UPC and UPM.

The Plan Avanza belongs to a strategic programme to promote R&D&I (Research and Development and Innovation) under the National Reform Programme created by the Spanish government to implement the Lisbon strategy with a view to reach the necessary use of ICT contributing to the success of an increasing economical model based on competitiveness and productivity raise, social and regional equal opportunities and the improvement of citizens welfare and quality of life

I&IMS participate and support the  Axis Video Server Campaign for selected ADPs with two software packages: DocuRemote (IP Video-surveillance system allowing to monitor and manage alarms through corporation network, Internet or PDA) and DocuDVM - Digital
Video Manager (MPEG4 content manager -video & audio-).

As part of the campaign that begins on February 28th 2007 and will last 4 months, a CD will be produced and distributed worldwide to Axis': Distributors, Channel Partners, Resellers and End Users with the I&IMS video server solution applications

Within the framework of the UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System implementation in our company, throughout January 2007, I&IMS sent its clients a satisfaction survey to get to know their acceptance level of our products and services.

The results were frankly satisfactory. In their majority, our clients underline, as excellent or very good, aspects like the quality and innovation of our products or fastness and easiness in technical solution of problems.
