MODALVISION CD/DVD Medical Record Tool

Efficient and affordable solution for the distribution of studies and reports with DICOM images, easy to configure, use and maintain.

Directly create DICOM CDs/DVDs from any PACS or modality interface. Direct control of the EPSON robotized CD/DVD recorder with an inkjet printer for the secure and personalised silk screen printing of patient identification data.

Includes an independent viewer specifically for DICOM and JPEG images so that patients and doctors can consult their studies from any location.

The images for series and studies can be exported to any device: CD/DVD, USB memory stick or network memory units.

Direct control of the EPSON robotized Discproducer PP100 CD/DVD recorder, which includes an inkjet printer for the secure and personalised silk screen printing of patient identification data.

Choose the most appropriate ModalVision application depending on how you obtain images from the PACS:

  • MV CD/DVD Medical Record Tool QR

    • Using DICOM Query/Retrieve: the ModalVision tool allows you to access patient information and studies with an identifier (this could be a patient number or case note number).
    • Through importing DICOM files from a disc or external device.

  • MV CD/DVD Medical Record Tool SERVER

    • Through DICOM Storage: with this process, all PACS, modalities and applications which provide the option to resend images to an external DICOM node (using DICOM Push, DICOM Send or DICOM Storage) can send images to the ModalVision tool.

Specifications

Selecting images to export:

  • The user has complete control over the selection of images through use of an agile and simple interface which allows:

    • Display of each one of a series in a study.
    • Selecting of all images with a simple 'click'.
    • Selecting of individual images.
    • Selecting of a complete series.
    • Selecting one out of every n images (for multicut studies with numerous images).

  • The user can also drag images from any application onto the interface, at which point they are automatically "dicomized" and integrated into the collection of images to be recorded using the EPSON Discproducer.

  • Similarly, the user can see a preview of each of the images before they are recorded onto the CD or DVD.

The application can be continually maintained in the foreground, so that it "floats" over other PACS windows and the display is not lost.

The image viewer included in the CDs/DVDs does not require installation or administrator privileges in the equipment and is therefore completely independent.

Display of all DICOM tags for each image (DICOM Dump).

Printing of images with format editing in DICOM (through DICOM Print) and Windows printers.

Control module for images sent through any DICOM node.

Selection of multiple studies for a patient in a single operation.

Direct importing of DICOM, JPEG and any other format images from any device and inclusion of these in the CD/DVD.

Importing of any document or file coming from other devices, with display on the CD/DVD through the corresponding Windows application.

Capture of documents from a scanner or TWAIN device, with the option to turn and classify pages and automatically generate PDF.

Creation of a report in RTF. Documents can be viewed directly from the CD/DVD´s independent viewer without the need for any external application.

It provides constant control of the queue of CDs/DVDs pending recording, the option to force immediate recording, cancel a recording or see the images with a DICOM viewer, as well as the automatic recording time from the receipt of the last image in the study.

Complete management and control of the recording and silk screen printing robot for the EPSON Discproducer PP100 CD/DVD recorder, including:
· List of studies to record.
· Selection of an available label type.
· Data to include on the label as the patient identifier.
· Status of the ink cartridges.
· Type of disc to use, CD or DVD, and availability.
· Process status for the device.

It can function as a Windows service or operate with the interface.

The application is available in the following languages: Spanish, English and French.

Modal Vision

MODALVISION

Modular medical application for the display, storage, printing and exporting of radiology images.

MODALVISION includes a DICOM server, through which the images and associated data from the various modalities connected (CR, CT. MR, etc.) are fed and maintains its own database to provide instantaneous access to the data for any patient in terms of study, series or associated images.

With an extremely simple and highly intuitive user interface, MODALVISION allows you to easily select and search for patients using multiple criteria (name, history, date, number, only pending, etc.), print and export the images, and display images on one or more monitors .

Performances

Thanks to its mosaic visor, MODALVISION enables the simultaneous presentation of several images and provides a set of tools usually used with DICOM images: adjustment of Dicom Width and Dicom Level, zoom, rotate, measures, angles, sharpen filters, etc., as well as the realisation of annotations (areas, texts, etc.) to be optionally recorded or printed with the main image.

MODALVISION allows to select multiple images from the same series or from different ones, including studies or different patients to be later displayed together and format printing on radiology board or paper. Moreover, the printing of several images can be made on a unique board under a symmetric format (same visual size for all the images) or exported to different supports (CD, DVD or disks).

As regards image printing, MODALVISION allows to configure a symmetric mosaic with configurable size and presentation (lines and columns) to be sent to the radiology or paper printer and to also generate a standard HTML document with images converted into JPEG-format (size can be defined by user) for reference uses.

The access to data with MODALVISION is ruled with a selective security policy allowing to activate or deactivate programme functionalities according to every user’s privileges. Its level will be preset by the System Administrator, with key identification and/or user fingerprint biometry. In addition an activity file is created to register all realised actions.

MODALVISION operates on a Windows platform, it offers a very-easy-to-use graphical interface, it is resizable to any display size, with icon buttons and user handbook included to the programme (by pressing F1) and is available in several languages (Spanish, English, Portuguese, Polish, etc.).

MODALVISION Tools provides a report tool and allows to realise queries according to multiple concepts, in a very easy way for the user. It is possible to access any of the data levels (patient, study, series or image). It is also provided with web display, only for JPEG-images.

Moreover, the system is provided with a series of additional tools, MODALVISION Tools Pro, allowing to:

· Query-Retrieve.- Retrieve images from other PACS or DICOM servers and display them with the MODAL VISION visor.

· DICOM Sender.- Send images to other PACS. It also allows to send DICOM images from a disk to MODALVISION with any modality.

· Dicomizer.- Image capture from a video signal or digital camera, add patient data and convert them to DICOM format.

· RX Scanner Capturer.- capture images from a film through a scanner (Vidar® in most cases), add patient data and send to MODALVISION.

· Telemedicine.- Connect with a remote user via IP to share a (high resolution) image, its annotations and lead real-time videoconference sessions.

It is possible to set up MODALVISION, improve its performances with the improved MODALVISION Tools and export images and data to Synapse® when a comprehensive PACS is required. MODALVISION and Synapse® are entirely compatible products which can share data together.
