Software created for direct printing of DICOM images and reports on the Konica Minolta bizhub C452 laser printer.
biz:Dicom software has two modes of operation:
As an automatic service
Images are printed directly without human intervention. Images can be sent from modalities or from any other DICOM node (PACS, workstation, etc.) which can handle DICOM files using DICOM Storage.
As an independent interface
This means you can view the studies in the queue pending printing and change the print order or priority, delete them or change the print settings.
The core of biz:Dicom software is a DICOM server that receives images from DICOM nodes connected to it. You need to set the AE Title and receive port and enter this data in the sending nodes (modalities, PACS, etc.).
Templates are data structures to be overprinted on radiological images.
You can define an unlimited number of templates based on fixed texts or variable fields to be extracted from the DICOM header of the image.
You can distribute these data in different areas of the image, superimposed on it and print them on each sheet or just the first.
You can print the report in the same process as the images.
Normally images are available before the report. In biz:Dicom there is a configurable option that prevents the study being printed until the report is available.
Usually the report is not in DICOM mode. Consequently HIS / RIS / PACS should keep a copy of it in a shared folder based on the study number (Accession Number) as an identification criterion. This way you can synchronise its printing with the images.
Study completion criteria
Many modalities or PACS are unable to send MPPS at the end of the study, so the completion of the study is carried out by time.
You can define this completion time in the configuration section (default 5 minutes). Thus when the server receives images, it stores them in a temporary folder and when the specified number of minutes has elapsed after receipt of the last image of the study, it prints them as long as the report is available.
biz:Dicom software makes it possible to monitor the status of printer consumables (toner, paper in each tray, etc.) at all times and also select the tray (which can accommodate paper of different weights) for printing the report and the DICOM images in the study.
Image inversion
Radiological images usually have a black background due to the nature of the radiological films used to date, because in reality they are negatives of them.
You can print with the same appearance on paper, but that means using a lot more toner because you have to cover the paper’s white background with black.
The application lets you define print rules with positive radiological imaging, i.e. black on white. This can achieve around 80% toner savings. In all cases it is the user who decides the appearance of their prints.

Efficient and affordable solution for the distribution of studies and reports with DICOM images, easy to configure, use and maintain.
Directly create DICOM CDs/DVDs from any PACS or modality interface. Direct control of the EPSON robotized CD/DVD recorder with an inkjet printer for the secure and personalised silk screen printing of patient identification data.
Includes an independent viewer specifically for DICOM and JPEG images so that patients and doctors can consult their studies from any location.
The images for series and studies can be exported to any device: CD/DVD, USB memory stick or network memory units.
Direct control of the EPSON robotized Discproducer PP100 CD/DVD recorder, which includes an inkjet printer for the secure and personalised silk screen printing of patient identification data.
Choose the most appropriate biz:Dicom application depending on how you obtain images from the PACS:
Selecting images to export:
The application can be continually maintained in the foreground, so that it "floats" over other PACS windows and the display is not lost.
The image viewer included in the CDs/DVDs does not require installation or administrator privileges in the equipment and is therefore completely independent.
Display of all DICOM tags for each image (DICOM Dump).
Printing of images with format editing in DICOM (through DICOM Print) and Windows printers.
Control module for images sent through any DICOM node.
Selection of multiple studies for a patient in a single operation.
Direct importing of DICOM, JPEG and any other format images from any device and inclusion of these in the CD/DVD.
Importing of any document or file coming from other devices, with display on the CD/DVD through the corresponding Windows application.
Capture of documents from a scanner or TWAIN device, with the option to turn and classify pages and automatically generate PDF.
Creation of a report in RTF. Documents can be viewed directly from the CD/DVD´s independent viewer without the need for any external application.
It provides constant control of the queue of CDs/DVDs pending recording, the option to force immediate recording, cancel a recording or see the images with a DICOM viewer, as well as the automatic recording time from the receipt of the last image in the study.
Complete management and control of the recording and silk screen printing robot for the EPSON Discproducer PP100 CD/DVD recorder, including:
· List of studies to record.
· Selection of an available label type.
· Data to include on the label as the patient identifier.
· Status of the ink cartridges.
· Type of disc to use, CD or DVD, and availability.
· Process status for the device.
It can function as a Windows service or operate with the interface.
The application is available in the following languages: Spanish, English and French.

PACS Radiology
DICOM software for the recording, viewing and
distribution of images and report management.
PACS software providing a perfect and cost-effective solution for radiology and tele-radiology, designed for private practices, clinics and medium-sized hospitals.
ModalVision allows for the filing, viewing, organization and exporting of radiology images from any modality or node complying with the DICOM 3 standards.
It is a modular system which includes a DICOM server, through which are fed the images and associated data from the different modalities connected (CR, CT, etc.). It has its own database (storage) to provide instantaneous access to the data for any patient from any location.

Private practices and medium-sized hospitals
Years of experience offering a PACS solution to private practices, clinics and medium-sized hospitals has allowed us to design ModalVision 2.0 to meet their needs.
Intuitive interface and operation
ModalVision 2.0 is a system based on the principle that users should be able to perform any action with the minimum number of clicks. So all of the most commonly used information can be found on the main screen.
In addition, it uses reading protocols which allow for a customized display of each analysis type, such as, for example, breast screening.
ModalVision Web
Allows you to view studies, series, images and reports from any computer with access to the internet with a minimum load time and high quality, thanks to compression to between 30% and 90% of the size of the original image.
Additional information associated with the study
Each study consists in a set of DICOM images associated with a report, annex documents, voice notes, status of the study indicating whether or not it is pending, and the key words (diagnosis).
Search
This is one of the most powerful features offered by ModalVision 2.0. It incorporates the most common searches by default, such as the studies from today, yesterday or over the last few days. The system includes the option to search using combined factors, such as: studies pending viewing, key diagnosis words, description (mamo, breast) or modality (CR, CT, US).
Comparing studies
ModalVision 2.0 offers this tool which allows for a comparison between the current study and previous ones, which is very useful when examining the progress of a patient.
In addition, it includes a list which allows you to view and export images from several studies at the same time.
Exporting data
ModalVision 2.0 simplifies the exporting of
studies and data to a CD/DVD, USB, hard disc,
Epson Robotized CD Recorder, DICOM Node, DICOM printer or PostScript and sending by email. This information is encoded and accessible through an autonomous DICOM viewer.
Data Management
The system allows access for registered users; each of these has defined privileges for accessing the system's tools. Each action performed by a user is recorded, in compliance with the Data Protection Law.
